Business Development Manager - Yorkshire and North West - £30k - £45k neg depending on experience + uncapped commission + car, mobile + laptop

A new and exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager has arisen with my clients who are an award winning supplier of audio visual solutions.

This company, which has been established for many years, specialising in providing AV integration, design and solutions and, due to their brilliant reputation and emphasis on quality, are now looking for a BDM to spearhead their ambitious expansion plans.

The role

As New Business Development Manager you will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities to increase company revenue and presence within the market.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Devising and implementing sales strategies across new corporate vertical markets
  • Proactively sourcing new leads
  • Identifying new opportunities in markets and sectors
  • Understanding market trends
  • Focus on the existing database, targeting and engaging lapsed accounts
  • Present company to potential clients with purpose of being on approved supplier lists and asked to quote
  • Maintaining relationships to ensure that "new" clients are managed and their potential is maximised
  • Work with Marketing/Sales Manager on New Business strategies and following up leads and opportunities
  • Work in conjunction with the Sales team to ensure smooth client handover
  • Attend sales meeting at head office
  • Attend relevant functions and events to network, promote and develop company presence

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience of Business Development of Audio Visual within the corporate arena
  • The successful Business Development Manager will need to be self motivated, ambitious, sales focussed with a proven history of exceeding KPIs
  • A desire to stay up to date with the latest technology for your own knowledge and on a conversational sales level
  • You will need excellent communications skills both verbal and written along with excellent people skills
  • Our client is looking for someone with a tenacious attitude, who is keen to develop their career and be part of the successful growth of the business
  • You will need a full driving licence, ideally clean
