Operations Manager

The Role:

The Operations Manager role is a new role to the company. This will allow someone to come in and implement processes and management tools to develop the Operations side of the business into an efficient, well run department. The team currently includes 13 members of staff.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Ensuring our customers receive a first class after-sales experience
* Managing the Workshop
* Managing the afters sales team who handle the allocation of technicians with incoming jobs/call-outs & ensuring that customers are kept informed of the progress of the work
* Managing the Warehouse and Shipping department
* Ensuring all work is completed to the highest standard
* Communicating with customers and building strong relationships with Key Accounts
* Liaising with suppliers with regards to technical information, warranty, feedback and support
* Setting of departmental KPIs and monitoring performance against these measures / reporting to MD
* Ensuring that communication between departments is ongoing and utilised to maintain an environment of continuous improvement
* Managing the budget for the department and reporting progress to MD
* Managing our software system to ensure it is fit for purpose and being correctly used by the team
* Identification of efficiencies and cost savings and introduction of new best practices
* Identification of skills gaps and either recruiting or arranging for staff training to bridge these gaps
The Candidate:
* Must have experience in managing service, afters sales and warehouse teams in a busy, capital equipment environment
* Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Have a sincere bias for action and be passionate about achieving results and driving production through efficiency and process improvement
* Possess the ability to manage detail, establish root cause and be able to extract and analyse data
* Must be able to demonstrate effective problem-solving and analytical capability
* Must be a natural leader and be able to build teams and create a positive working environment
